A husband and wife from San Diego, USA, are suing Westgate Towers, an Orlando timeshare resort, claiming fraudulent practice.

Mr and Mrs Grider lodged a complaint on November 6th, claiming that the company breached its responsibilities of fair dealing and good faith.

The complaint states that on January 6th 2016, the couple attended a timeshare sales presentation. The couple were lured into a purchase by misrepresentations made by Westgate Resorts. As a result, they have suffered monetary losses, by way of the initial deposit, instalments and annual maintenance fees.

A timeshare resort in Canada that went into liquidation is offering to make a deal with owners who deserted their timeshares if they agree to pay-up within 30 days.

Carriage Hills and Carriage Ridge appointed administrators by order of the court to help address financial concerns after they faced financial deficit from 2015-2018 and during this time one quarter of the 13,000 owners had defaulted on their timeshare payments. Consumer groups in Australia has made a broad move and are accusing the timeshare industry of trapping people in long term timeshare contracts using predatory sales tactics.

Choice is a consumer group based in Australia and they are urging the Australian Securities and Investments Commission to act and prosecute timeshare operators who break the law. International Lifestyle and Travel giant Karma has announced it is expanding its existing partnership with Diamond Resorts. They will now be able to offer members and guests additional luxury vacation options in Greece.

Karma Group have also announced they will open sales centres at Diamonds Village Heights Golf Resort in Crete. They will sell Diamond Resorts holiday points based products and also vacation memberships for Karma properties.

Resort workers in Hawaii move forward with yet another strike against the timeshare giant.

Workers at the Modern Honolulu and Kaanapal Beach Club In Maui, Hawaii go on strike yet again as Diamond Resorts fail to come to an agreement with workers.

The strikes started in May when Diamond Resorts took over the hotels to convert them into timeshare units. The workers union and Diamond have yet to come to an agreement, so workers have decided to strike again. Workers are fighting for job security, solidarity and a fair living wage.

A timeshare owner in the US is suing Wyndham and its sales agents, for tricking her into upgrading her membership.

The suit alleges the timeshare giant used deceptive business practices and fraud, when they mis-sold the upgrade of a timeshare membership. The complainant alleges that Wyndham and it’s sales reps made several false and misleading statements, which she says were the basis for her deciding to upgrade her membership.
