Here at Praetorian Legal we are dedicated to maintaining professional standards and following protocol. It is also in our philosophy to ensure that all our employees have a safe working environment. Therefore, it is paramount that we have trained First Aid Officers within the business to ensure that a safe working environment is maintained for our employees.
The basic principles of British health and safety law are set out in the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974. The Act sets out the general duties which employers have towards employees, members of the public and employees have to themselves and to each other.
This legislation is relevant to offices and a wide range of other businesses. The regulations require all employers to provide information, instruction, training, and supervision so that their employees work in healthy and safe conditions.
There are over one million injuries at work every year in the UK, many of which are preventable. Preventing accidents and ill health caused by work can be greatly assisted by using effective First Aid Training.
As a low risk workplace, Praetorian Legal are required to have a first aid box and a person appointed to take charge of first aid arrangements. However, we have exceeded expectations by appointing two qualified first aiders who have been trained to carry out effective CPR and how to use a defibrillator.
We believe that it is important to provide First Aid training as it ensures that employees know how to work safely and without risks to health. We believe that effective training across the business will continue to contribute towards keeping staff productive and motivated.
Consequently, we are proud to confirm that our First Aid officers, Harry Darby and Jarron Hunt, successfully completed their First Aid refresher course. Not only does this secure that all staff members can be confident that they have trained officers within the workplace, it also demonstrates Praetorian Legal’s ethos to maintain professional standards and to comply with legislation.
