This follows the terrible fire at the timeshare resort in December 2017, which sadly asserted the lives of a young couple who were staying at the hotel.
BBC Scotland has posted an article from information they have learned. A total of 300 posts out of 450 appear to be at risk. This may include 150 staff on zero-hour contracts. Sadly, these staff members have been informed that there will not be any work for them in the short term.
On Thursday 25th January 2018, a meeting was held at Dumbarton Football Club. A consultation process into the job losses was launched, as staff were informed on the process ahead. There are said to be 150 employees whom will remain unaffected by the consultation. This includes roles across the business for the Golf Course, Marina and ground staff.
In December 2017, we posted a blog with reference to the sad passing of a young couple whom were staying at Cameron House when the fire broke out. Reports suggest that investigations into the cause of the fire are continuing. Nicola Sturgeon has promised, if anything emerges from the investigation, lessons will be learned.
