Fraudsters stole more than £7 million from holidaymakers in 2018.

Action Fraud’s figures show more than 5,000 tourists were conned into paying for fake flights, non-existent villas and other scams. Figures released by Action Fraud show the average amount lost due to holiday fraud in 2018 was £1,380.

A British holidaymaker claims he was thrown off a flight when he told cabin crew he suffered from a nut allergy.

Josh Silver from Essex was returning from a trip to Turkey with his girlfriend. He told the BBC how he was escorted off his flight back to Gatwick by Turkish police, after cabin crew staff told him it was against its policy to fly someone like him.

A family who saved for five years to pay for a holiday to Menorca, are demanding Tui refund them in full after a series of disasters.

The family who forked out £1,600 on a family trip to Menorca, say they were served raw chicken and found poo in the swimming pool. To make matters worse, they say the entire holiday was ruined due to poor standards, they were given mouldy food, sun beds splattered in bird poo and dirty water slides. Sisters Sammy and Sylvia booked a 3 night stay in Alicante, through Teletext Holidays, to celebrate their mother’s 55th birthday.

 

When the 3 arrived at Alicante Airport, they were told that their hotel was a €350 taxi ride away, or 7 hours by public transport.
