Whilst holidaying in Tenerife in 2011, our clients were approached by a timeshare sales representative, who offered them the opportunity to upgrade their timeshare for a small fee. He offered them a trade-in price for their original timeshare of €6,000, they would only have to pay €4,000 and they would gain a substantially improved resort and additional benefits. One of these benefits would be a reduced non-usage fee, this would mean that for any of the years where they did not use their timeshare they would only have to pay €50.

Our clients thought this was a much better option, as previously, they had to pay maintenance fees of around €400 even if they didn’t visit the resort. Needless to say this is not what transpired. On their fourth year of ownership the non-usage fee rose to €200, this was far and above the €50 they were promised.
